NK Move is a boutique dance and fitness studio opening in Orlando. Before the first class there was no team to run operations: the founder handles the brand and the business, and does not teach. Anything the software did not cover would land on her on the night of the opening class, in the middle of a room full of people.
We built both halves. The public side is a trilingual site and a sales page with checkout, so a visitor goes from an ad to a paid ticket without a person in the loop. The operational side is the system that runs the room: emailed tickets with QR codes, a liability waiver signed by link, QR check-in at the door with a manual fallback, and twenty one admin screens behind it. Check-in works with the network down, because a venue with bad signal should not stop the door.
The whole operations system went from first commit to working in four days, covered by 575 automated tests, on a stack that costs the studio about a dollar a month.
The Shift:
- From: a spreadsheet, a printed door list, and every exception landing on the founder during the class
- To: tickets, waivers, door check-in and reporting running as one system, in three languages, for about a dollar a month
Client Objectives
The engagement was guided by clear, measurable objectives that defined success for both business leadership and IT operations.
Sell the Opening Class Without a Sales Team
Take a visitor from an ad to a paid ticket with no manual step in between, in three languages.
Run the Door Without Paper
Check people in by scanning a QR code, with a manual search fallback for anyone who lost the email.
Keep Working Without Signal
The venue may have poor connectivity, so check-in has to work with the network down and sync afterwards.
Ship Before the Opening Date
The class had a fixed date. The system had to exist and be tested well before it, not on the day.
